• Pigmentation red-violet at least dorsal on the several first segments.
• Prostomium epi- or tanylobous.
• Setae strictly or moderately paired.
• Clitellum annular or saddle-shaped.
• Spermathecae usually lacking, if present, frequently empty in 9/10 10/11 and open in setal line c.
• Tubercula pubertatis usually lacking.
• Male pore on xv large, just above setal line e.
• Female pore small on xiv just above setae b.
• Holandric, two pairs of testes in x, xi and two pairs of seminal vesicles in xi, xii (sometimes lacking or three pairs in ix, x, xi).
